When you have a newborn you expect them to wake up throughout the night. You see it to be ‘normal’. You know it won’t last forever and you expect it’ll improve within a couple of months. You make it through those sleepless nights with lots of caffeine on hand and picture the night in the near future that your baby gives you more than 5 hours solid sleep.

My Labour & Birth Story

I’ve had this blog post roughly written up and sat in the ‘draft’ section of my blog since my baby was about 3 weeks old. There’s a couple of reasons why it’s taken me so long to get it finished and published. Looking after a tiny human is hard and time consuming. You can’t just take a break from being a mum whenever you like and that means that I no longer get half as much done as what I want to, like this blog post for example. But the biggest reason behind it taking me such a long time to get finished, is because it quite simply makes me emotional. There have been a few times where I could’ve sat down and got it done, but I have to be in the mood to reminisce and get a little bit sad. I’m sure any mum will agree with me that the whole experience still makes them emotional. Or are my hormones still all over the place?

Preparing For Labour

20.06.2018 – 37 Weeks Pregnant. Officially classed as “Full Term”

It seems like only yesterday that I saw those two lines on a pregnancy test and now here we are, 37 weeks along and officially classed as full term which means that the baby can come any day. With that being said, I’m a first time mum and I know in most cases babies are usually late and rarely ever come on their due date.

My Pregnancy Journey so far…

I found out I was pregnant on the 2nd November 2o17 after taking two positive pregnancy tests. I wasn’t actually surprised to see two very strong lines on each test. because by the time it came to taking the tests, I already knew I was pregnant and would’ve been more shocked and confused if it was negative. It is still hard to explain how I felt at the time. It was just really surreal. It wouldn’t sink it, (and it didn’t for quite a while).
